MEXICAN TOURISM PROMOTED THROUGH BRITISH AIRLINE

LONDON, United Kingdom, 7th September 2015.- In order to improve their knowledge about culture and traditions of Mexico, on 1st and 2nd September was celebrated an event to promote tourism in Mexico, focused to pilots and flight attendants of British Airways (BA).

Sponsored by the Mexican restaurant Mestizo, the Mexico Tourism Board (CPTM) coordinated an event where the flight crew were offered an authentic Mexican tasting, print information about the most attractive Mexico’s destinies, as well as news and updates about the return of the Formula 1 Grand Prix to Mexico City, after 23 years of absence.

In the areas of documentation of Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, where the daily BA flights take off and land en route or from Mexico, respectively, it is estimated that a total of 1,200 people perceived some kind of positive message about Mexico.

The promotional event lined up on the goal set by the governments of Mexico and the United Kingdom so that more than 500,000 British tourists travel to Mexico, as of this Dual Year celebrated by both countries.

In parallel, the Mexican airline Aeroméxico confirmed its service of five weekly flights from London Heathrow Airport to Mexico City, suitable for both tourism and business.

In summer 2015, the Mexican company started with the fifth weekly frequency to Mexico City, so it’s expected that the number of passengers transported will exceed 60,000, since the incorporation of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner (with 243 seats, including 32 in Clase Premier with full-flat beds) which contributed to the increase by 30% its seat capacity on the route.
